Laparoscopic Gastric Bypass
What is Laparoscopic Gastric Bypass

Laparoscopic Gastric Bypass
In gastric bypass surgery, a small stomach pouch is created and the small intestine is connected to this small pouch causing the passage of food to bypass most of the stomach and a part of the small intestine.
How does it work?
Gastric bypass combines a restrictive procedure with a malabsorption procedure. The small stomach pouch causes restriction to the flow of food so you will feel full sooner. Because the food bypasses most of the stomach and part of the small intestine, there is less chance that food will be absorbed by the digestive system. The result is decreased food intake and decrease food absorption.
